Sputtering on my 700

Got a bit of a headache with my Yamaha Grizzly 700. It runs strong at the start, but about an hour into the ride it starts missing and sputtering to the point where it feels like it's about to die. If I let it cool down, it'll fire back up and run fine again, at least until I put some more time on it. I'm thinking its a heat related issue, maybe fuel delivery or electrical, but I haven't nailed it down yet. Need help trying to figure out the cause?

That kind of intermittent sputtering after the machine heats up definitely sounds like a heat related issue,, common are a failing fuel pump that loses pressure once hot, a clogged vent in the fuel tank or an ignition coil/CDI breaking down under heat. I suggest you start by checking fuel pressure when the problem shows up, make sure the tank vent is clear, and test spark when its sputtering, those steps should narrow down whether its fuel or electrical.

What specific tests have you done to check whether the sputtering on your Yamaha Grizzly 700 is caused by fuel delivery, ignition components, or another heat-related issue?
