To add or not to add a water bottle holder?

I'm thinking of adding a water bottle holder to my new Grizzly ATV because it's important for me to really drink water. Unfortunately, I don't see nay good spot on the handlebars. Should I replace my 1lb fender compartment as I don't really do much with it? I want to put the lid with an insert there instead so I could hold the bottle upright! Is this a good idea or not?

Replacing the 1lb fender compartment with a lid insert for a water bottle holder sounds like a practical and low cost solution. If you are not using the compartment much, it makes sense to repurpose that space for something you really need. You could either DIY an insert that holds the bottle upright using basic materials like foam or PVC pipe or check online for affordable ready made inserts designed for similar setups.

If you want to save even more consider attaching a simple bottle cage or strap mount to the side of the compartment instead. This way you can still use the fender compartment for small items while having a secure spot for your water bottle. Either option is a budget friendly way to keep your hydration handy while keeping things functional. 🤓🤓

Would replacing the fender compartment with a lid insert really keep your water bottle secure and upright over rough terrain, or might it tip and spill while riding?
