mid-size 450 atv eps questions and year recommendations

I'm looking into mid-size ATVs, especially the 450 models from 2008 to 2014. I'm fine with having EPS, but I'm wondering how reliable it really is and what happens if it breaks down. Can you still ride without it,is there a way to bypass it, how hard is the steering without EPS? Also, are there certain years or suspension setups that are better? I'd love to hear what you think and any expereinces you've had

It could be alright, but if it craps out, you can still ride...It just gets way harder to steer. No easy bypass, so youll prolly have to fix it if it breaks (no sh**). Steering without EPS is a workout, especially its slow and tight. Later models typically have better suspension and ofc smoother rides, but it depends on the brand. EPS is cool, but not a dealbreaker if you're ready for the heavier steering sometimes.

Have you ridden one without EPS before to see how much heavier the steering feels, especially at low speeds or in rough terrain?

Ok you know what, EPS is really good when it works and yeah I agree with @bbbreezy, if it's glitching or something, your bike isn't totally useless but it will feel like arm day at the gym, lol. I'd lean toward the '13–'14 models since those ones felt tighter all around suspension-wise.
