It's annoying when our fav vehicle is acting up. The neutral safety switch of my yamaha grizzly 700 is not working. So I tried to pull on the rear brake handle and bush on the foot brake. This is not even work. before I went to the dealer, I wanted to try to fix it myself. Now, tell me, will joining the two wires coming off the left brake handle lever will work?

yeah , I've tried that, but it's still not working. I haven't try the wires tho' I think I just gonna go to the dealer
the thing you did, it's just a workaround and not a proper fix, at least make sure you're not bypassing something critical for safety. If it starts after that, at least you've narrowed it down. Might still be worth checking the actual switch for corrosion or damage before jumping into splicing.

Yep, you can try joining the two wires and it'll bypass the safety switch. Just test it out, don't make it a permanent solution though. Might have more complications. Try looking at the neutral sensor too if it's ok.

Any updates on this? Did the wire trick work or did you end up finding a better fix? Curious how it turned out

I think you should check your brake switch, sounds like the problem is within that. Does the brake light go on when using foot and hand brake?
